Hello!
I'm Elyse.
After years of teaching others to write, Elyse is excited to finally have the time to write her own stories. She became interested in writing Picture Books with the birth of granddaughter Baia, who serves as an inspiration, as well as a sounding board, for her work.
Elyse is a:
Teacher
who has worked with students from college to middle school.
Tutor
who guides students for college entrance exams, college essays, and college application
TA / English adjunct
who works with students with learning disabilities in a community college.
Theater critic
and voting member of Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle who attends more than 60 Broadway and Off-Broadway productions each year. (It’s a tough job- but someone has to do it!)
Traveler
who has explored the United States as well as Europe, South Africa, Viet Nam, Hong Kong, Galapagos, Singapore, Mexico, Canada, Cambodia, and Australia.
Tennis player
who is ranked at 3.5. Formerly a singles player, now she enjoys women’s’ and mixed doubles
An animal lover
who adopted a 14 year old stray, blind and deaf dog; cared for feral cats and even built an outdoor heated shelter. Now caring for 15 year old Bella, mixed breed. (Rescues are the best!)
A lifelong New Yorker, Elyse lives with her husband Andy on Long Island but they take full advantage of the Big Apple.
